A "Glorious Display": a Visitor's Reflection on Evensong at St Barnabas

Christopher Adam, a local author and historian who edits https://ottawachurches.ca/, an active and engaging blog about Ottawa-area churches, attended our Evensong on October 19 and wrote about it. He liked what he saw.

The sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch were all engaged through the beauty of the sacred space, as well as the music from St. Barnabas’ exceptional choir, the scent of incense rising, and kneeling at various times throughout the liturgy.

Reflecting on Fr Kwari's sermon and the theme of Dedication of the church building in 1931, Adam said:

It was abundantly clear at the Evensong that the St. Barnabas community takes great care to preserve the beauty of their sacred space, which generations before have built. That care is reflected in the quality of the liturgies they celebrate in this church.
