Pembroke College Choir Visit a Grand Success

We are grateful for the many parishioners and visitors to the church on the July 26 weekend who contributed to making the Pembroke College Chapel Choir concert and Evensong service a major success. The work of the drivers, hosts, donors, promoters, designers, ushers, cooks, cleaners, reception organizers and assistants, and the people who contributed in multiple ways added up to a mammoth parish effort, spearheaded by Father Kwari. As he noted in a letter of thanks: "This was more than an event; it was a collective effort filled with generosity and warmth."

The Cambridge, U.K.-based choir gave a sold-out concert on July 26, a similarly packed Evensong service on the 27th, and included in their time in the area a day-long whitewater rafting trip on the Ottawa River on the following Monday -- an outing to celebrate conductor Anna Lapwood's 30th birthday. Leigh Anne Williams wrote an article in in the Diocese's publication, Perspective, about the choir’s visit.
