A message from the Rector about Christmas service restrictions
The recent increase in the active cases of the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 has been a source of much concern and worry for all of us. In the ongoing efforts by Ottawa Public Health and our Diocese of Ottawa to manage public and private gatherings, they have introduced new restrictions that effect our Parish.
Effective Monday, December 20th, we are not permitted to have people in the pews for services or Masses. We are allowed to have a small group of people to offer Mass and to provide the streaming of services when possible. We are very fortunate to have a small and dedicated group of volunteers who will continue to stream the services and we are deeply grateful for their generous gift of their time and talent.
The restrictions mean that our Christmas services are closed to our parish family and friends.
- Christmas Eve: Procession, Devotions at the Creche and Sung Mass
The previous two services at 7:30 pm and 10 pm will be replaced by a single Mass at 9 pm, which will be livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube.
- Christmas Day: Sung Mass
10:30 am; streamed as usual on Facebook and YouTube
- Sunday Dec. 26th: Said Low Mass
10:30 am; this Service will be streamed only on Facebook as per our usual practice for mid-week Masses.
The mid-week Masses on Dec. 28th and Dec. 31st are cancelled. We hope to resume the mid-week Masses in the New Year
May all of us have a Blessed and Joyous Christmas and a New Year filled with health and Happiness
