To the congregation of St Barnabas,

Thank you for all the food donations you collected for the Centretown Emergency Food Centre this past year. It is so nice to see Yvonne and her team of volunteer delivery people every few weeks, and your donations are a very welcome addition to our supplies.

Over 8,000 people received food assistance from the Food Centre in 2022 and numbers are now back at pre-pandemic levels. We are seeing newcomers from Afghanistan and Ukraine as well as people who are experiencing food insecurity due to cost increases in every area of their lives because of high inflation.

The following is an excerpt from a message we recently received from a regular Food Centre visitor:

I just wanted to thank you all for the tremendous work you do for the community and by that I also mean the impact you have on individuals like me.... Please be well and know that you are more useful than you can imagine.

The support of CCSAC churches is essential to the operation of the Food Centre. We are so very grateful for all that you contribute to the work we do: donations of food, financial support, and helping to keep the Centretown community informed about the needs of their neighbours. Thank you!

Wishing you all the best in 2023.
